Drawing the intricate textures of fur and the unique character of animals is one of the most rewarding challenges for coloured pencil artists. In this 5-week immersive course, you’ll learn essential techniques to capture the softness, depth, and dimension that bring animal portraits to life.
We’ll cover everything from understanding fur both long and short, direction and layering for texture. Achieving realistic eyes, noses, and subtle colour shifts in coats. Each session will include live demonstrations, step-by-step guided exercises, and personalized feedback to help you progress with confidence.
Students will also receive weekly video reviews of their work, tailored suggestions for improvement, and continued support to refine their skills.
All sessions will be recorded and available for one full year, so you can revisit lessons anytime and work at your own pace.
By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills to create lifelike animal drawings that radiate depth, expression, and detail—whether you’re working on pets, wildlife, or your favourite animal subjects.
