Equality of Same is an ongoing portrait series centering individuals from the LGBTQ+ community. Each large-scale drawing features red text-based tattoos inscribed on the body, markings that hover between ink and wound. These textual interventions speak to lived experiences of queerness, often shaped by marginalization, silence, and struggle. The red tattoos, deliberately rendered to resemble cuts, give visual form to internal narratives of pain, rejection, and the ongoing search for dignity and belonging.
