At the Table is an exhibition by Canadian artist Jeannette Sirois presenting twelve large-scale portrait drawings on paper from her ongoing series examining the visibility of 2SLGBTQ+ lives.
Developed through a collaborative process with each sitter, the portraits bring together individuals whose lives reflect the realities of queer experience within contemporary society.
Working through the language of portraiture, Sirois considers how recognition, identity, and belonging are shaped by the social and institutional structures surrounding us.
Presented together, the works create a collective presence that foregrounds queer lives while asking who has historically been allowed a place at the table.

Eight Large-scale archival prints from At the Table|The Architecture of Control are presented at the West Vancouver Memorial Library by invitation, in conjunction with the Canadian Museum for Human Rights travelling exhibition Love in a Dangerous Time. The original works tour concurrently at The View at VIU in Nanaimo. The library's open, light-filled space offers an unusual context for large-format portraiture--one that shifts how the works are encountered.

This exhibition brings together three bodies of work: At the Table: The 2SLGBTQ+ Visibility Project, reclaiming grand manner portraiture to centre queer lives and challenge ongoing erasure; Mortal Coil, a stark black-and-white series on mental health and self-perception; and a large-scale stand-alone portrait bridging both themes. Together, these works demand that viewers consider who is seen, how they are seen, and who is still fighting to be visible.
